Andy Phipps or Phippsy as he is more widely known boasts 28 years in the hospitality industry as a professional chef having worked in some of Australia’s best eateries and international hotels.

He has been surfing since the age of ten and has been fishing for over 40 years and it is this love of the outdoors that has led him to his more recent career path, television.

Phippsy attracted attention with his fishing prowess and then his knowledge of food and scored a job cooking on a channel seven show and within 18 months was snapped up by Channel Nine and has remained at the forefront of Queensland television since 1996.

His credits are 500 cooking segments over the last 8 years over 1,000 live news crosses, 2 years as a reporter for Getaway, 2 years as national host of the Hooked On Water fishing show and the author of 3 best selling cook books, that at one time out sold Stephen King and Bryce Courtney in Queensland.
